Detailed itinerary of 8 days-Rwanda and, Uganda safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda
On your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our guide, have a small briefing about visiting the two countries, have lunch, and then continue to visit the memorial, which has kept the remains of the dead bodies that were killed in the genocide in 1976, which was a result of tribalism. After your visit to the genocide memorial, you will be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Kigali-volcanoes national park
On your 2nd day of your 8-day visit to Uganda and Rwanda, you will wake up for breakfast, meet your Rwanda tour guide, and set off to Volcanoes National Park. During this visit, you will be able to see the different primates like golden monkeys and Dian Fossey and hike to Mount Bisoke. You will also be able to tour around the twin lakes, Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo, this making your trip memorable. After you drive back to the lodge for lunch in the late afternoon, after lunch you will have your leisure time to move around Kigali city, have a look at its beauty, and then go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking-volcanoes national park

On your 3rd day of 8 days in Rwanda and Uganda, you will wake up to your leisure breakfast and meet your Rwanda wildlife tour guide, who will drop you at the headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. You will be told about the rules, regulations, and expectations about gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be divided into 5 groups with your senior tour guide to help you in the gorilla trekking experience. This process takes about 4-5 hours since these primates move from different places to others searching for water and food. In those hours, you will spot the gorillas and other different primates. Other primates include black-and-white monkeys, colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, and others. You will be lucky to spot different bird species, which also include red-faced woodland warblers, Ruwenzori batises, handsome francolins, and blue-headed sunbirds, among other birds. After trekking, you will drive back to the lodge, relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 4: volcanoes-Bwindi impenetrable national park
On your 4th day of the 8-day Rwanda-Uganda safari, you will wake up to your leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then meet your Uganda tour driver to start your journey from Rwanda to Uganda. You will cross from Rwanda to Uganda using the Cyanika border as the easiest and short route. On your way to Uganda, you will be able to see the landscapes and the hills of the Kigezi region. You will see the scenic beauty of Uganda starting from the border and experiencing the new weather of the Kigezi region. You will arrive at the gate in the late evening, check in at the lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 5: gorilla trekking
On your 5th day of the 8-day Rwanda-Uganda safari, you will wake up early, have breakfast, meet your Uganda tour driver, and take you through the briefing about gorilla trekking. After your briefing, you will start your journey to the forest to learn about the gorilla trekking process. This takes about 4-5 hours since primates normally move deep in the forest. You will be divided into groups where you will be given the senior guide to help you track the primates. During the trekking, you will see the different primates like black-and-white monkeys, colobus monkeys, and others. After the trekking experience, you will be driven back to the lodge for supper and overnight. You may opt to do a community visit to the Batwa people.
Day 6: Bwindi-Queen Elizabeth National Park
On your 6th day of the 8-day Rwanda-Uganda safari, you will wake up, meet your Uganda Tour driver, check out of the lodge, and set off on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey takes about 7 hours from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, and while on your way, you will be able to spot the hills and landscapes of southwestern Uganda. You will arrive in Fort Portal town in the late evening, tour around Fort Portal city, then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the late evening, check in to the lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 7: Game drive and Boat cruise

You will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and then meet your guide for a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. While on your drive, you will be able to spot different animals like elephants, buffaloes, elands, antelopes, topis, waterbucks, and lions, and the lucky ones may see the leopards, which normally move in the early morning and late at night. After your game, you will be taken back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation as you wait for the next activity.
Boat cruise
You will meet your driver again in the afternoon for the evening boat cruise, where you will be able to spot the animals like hippos, crocodiles, and other mammals that normally come in the afternoon for water, and these animals include; hippos, buffaloes, elephants, elands, topis, and others. After your boat cruise, you will be taken back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Return to Entebbe
On the last day of your two-country trip, you will wake up, have breakfast, and check out of the lodge. You will go to the southern gate, where you will be able to see the lion climbing in the trees, continue to check out of the park, and start your journey to travel back to Kampala. As soon as you arrive in the city, your driver will either drop you at the hotel in Kampala or drop you at the airport.
