Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon arrival, your driver-guide, who speaks English, will greet you and give you some general information about the Uganda gorilla trekking safari tour and then take you to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will drive for about 4 to 5 hours through breathtaking rolling hills, beautiful scenery with terrace farms, and some charming rural villages on the way. Upon arriving at the destination, you will be taken to your lodge, where you will have dinner for the night.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you’ll pack a packed lunch and head to the park headquarters for a briefing from park rangers. Trekking begins shortly after, leading you through dense forest trails in search of a habituated gorilla family. Depending on the gorillas’ location that day, the trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, but the journey itself is rewarding, with chances to spot L’Hoest’s monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, colourful birdlife, and unique forest vegetation along the way.
After locating the gorillas in the forest, you will be given one hour to study the gorillas, see how they feed, interact and take care of their babies as they do this in their natural environment. This is the most unforgettable experience you get when trekking with the gorillas. After the encounter, you will go back to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking permit. Later in the afternoon, you may opt to go for an optional tour where you learn more about the Batwa people through their cultural dance and arts.
Day 3: Departure
