This 3 day Lake Bunyonyi safari allows you to embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi, with several stops along the way, including the equator monument and the Igongo cultural center. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda, and while you are there, you can engage in a variety of activities such as bird watching, boat cruises, canoeing, nature walks, swimming, and community tours, among others. This lake is in the southwestern region of Uganda. This Uganda safari is an exciting tour around the lake that has a variety of activities to engage in and attractions to see. This lake is home to various bird species, which you can observe during a bird-watching experience or while on a boat cruise. You will tour the islands on lake Bunyonyi and also have a nature walk. Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe airport and transfer to lake Bunyonyi and nature walk
A guide from Chopper tour and travel will pick you up from Entebbe airport on the first day of the 3 days lake Bunyonyi safari and you will be transferred to lake Bunyonyi after a briefing meeting with the guide. During the journey, you will stop at the equator monument in Kayabwe to take some pictures before continuing on your way. Next, you will go to the Igongo cultural center in Mbarara town for lunch and a cultural experience. You will then continue to lake Bunyonyi and you will select a lodge to reside in when you arrive. you will check in and then head for a nature walk.
You will conduct the nature walk in various areas around Lake Bunyonyi, including the farms and scenic viewpoints that showcase the surrounding vegetation. You will tour the local communities while on a nature walk with the guide, and after admiring the beauty around Lake Bunyonyi, you will return to the lodge, have dinner, and head to bed.

Day 2: Boat cruise, swimming and a community tour
On the morning of day 2 of the 3 day Lake Bunyonyi safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge and then review the guidelines, rules, and regulations for the boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. You will set off with a guide for the boat cruise and you will explore the islands on lake Bunyonyi while on the boat cruise. You will have a chance to spot a variety of bird species while on the boat cruise at lake Bunyonyi because this lake is home to over 200 bird species. You will explore around 29 islands during the boat cruise at lake Bunyonyi, and you will have a chance to visit some of them.
Once the boat cruise concludes, you will enjoy lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you will go for a swim at lake Bunyonyi and enjoy the waters. Swimming at lake Bunyonyi is one of the activities you can carry out with ease because this lake is free from dangerous wildlife that can harm you like crocodiles and hippos. The lake is also free from bilharzia, therefore making it a nice spot for swimming. After this experience, you will have a community tour in the evening. During the community tour, you will interact with the locals who reside in the area, specifically the Batwa and Bakiga communities. You will learn about their culture, traditions and much more. They will entertain you through their traditional dances and also teach you how they prepare their local dishes. You will visit places where they make a living, that is to say their farms and later the guide will drive you back to the lodge and you will have dinner before you sleep.

Day 3: Bird watching and transfer back to Entebbe airport
On day 3, you will wake up at the lodge, have breakfast, and then meet the guide at the lodge to go bird-watching at Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is a shelter to over 200 bird species and bird watching is mostly done around the swampy areas at lake Bunyonyi while on a boat cruise at lake Bunyonyi where you will have various sights of the beautiful birds that reside at this lake. Some of the birds that you will spot include the pied kingfisher, cinnamon-chested bee-eater, grey-crowned crane, malachite kingfisher, huge cormorants, black-headed weavers, fan-tailed widowbird, hadada ibis, and pied wagtail, among others. Birdwatching can also be done on some of the 29 islands at this lake. After birdwatching at the lake, you will depart to the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, the guide will take you to Entebbe airport.
