Detailed itinerary of 5 days exploring Uganda
Day 1: Arrival & Kampala city tour
As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will meet our representative, who will give you an introduction to the 5 days of exploring Uganda. Then you will head to Kampala city, driving on the Entebbe express with the view of beautiful structures along the express, and then proceed to Kampala, where you will have lunch at your hotel before any activity. Then continue to the Uganda Museum tour located in Kamonkya to see the ancient tools of different instruments that are kept there. After the city tour, you will return to your hotel at Ndere Gardens for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls National Park
On your 2nd day of the Uganda Tours, you will wake up, have breakfast, and then meet your driver as you start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park using the Gulu highway. While on your journey, you will stop at Luwero Market to buy some eats like fruits, then continue to Ziwa Sanctuary in Masindi. As soon as you reach it, you will meet the senior guide, who will give you a brief introduction about tracking the rhinos. This experience takes about 2-3 hours, depending on the location of these rhinos. After Rhino tracking and after stopping them, you will be given extra minutes to be around them and study how they feed and their way of living.
After tracking, you will meet your driver again en route to Masindi for lunch, have time for relaxation, and then you can proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. You will reach the park in the early evening and opt to hike to the top of the falls. During the hike to the top of the falls, you will have to view the beautiful flow of the falls at its speed. These falls have attracted a lot of people from across the world. After hiking to the top of the falls, you will embark in your van, check in at the lodges, and have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Murchison falls national park & Boat cruise
Game drive
On your 3rd day of the Uganda Wildlife Safaris, you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and then set off for the game drive. Normally, the game drive in the savanna vegetation takes about 2-3 hours, during which you will be able to see the cat family that normally moves early in the morning and late at night. This game drive will be able to see different animals like leopards, lions, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, antelopes, Jackson hartebeests, and many others, which normally graze in the savanna vegetation in Murchison Falls National Park. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge, relax, and have lunch as you wait for the boat cruise in the afternoon.
Boat cruise
Afternoon: after lunch at your lodge, you will meet your guide, who will take you on the boat cruise. On your boat cruise, you will be given a senior guide, who will take you from the lake shores to the top of the falls. The boat cruise to the top of the falls takes about 5-6 hours because of the water volume. During the boat cruise, you will see the different animals like hippos, Nile crocodiles, and other wildlife like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, antelopes, and elands, which normally graze around the Nile in the afternoon and move to drink water on the hot days. While on your boat cruise, you will be able to see bird species like kingfishers, African eagles, egrets, papyrus warblers, and parrots, among many birds. After the boat cruise, you will be taken back to your lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On your 4th day of the Uganda wildlife safaris, you will wake up to your leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver for the next travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey takes about 5 hours by car from Murchison to Queen in southwestern Uganda.
While on your journey, you will see the beautiful scenery along the way, and you will have some stopovers on your way for relaxation and lunch. You will arrive in the park in the early evening with a view of the Rwenzori mountain ranges. You will arrive at the park gate in the early evening and do an evening game drive in Kisenyi, then come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Evening boat cruise
In the evening, as you arrive in the park, you will drive straight to the Kazinga Channel, which separates the two lakes in southwestern Uganda. Lake Kyoga and Lake Edward: on your boat cruise, you will see different animals, like aquatic animals and land animals. These animals include crocodiles, hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and bird species like grey-crested cranes, jacanas, kingfishers, and many others. After the boat cruise, you will meet your driver, who will drive you back to your lodge, check in, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 5: Lion tracking & Departure
On your 5th day of the Uganda Tours, you will wake up early for breakfast and meet your guide for the next activity, which normally takes place in the Kisenyi plain. The Kisenyi plain in Queen Elizabeth is known to be a home of lion climbing, which has kept Queen Elizabeth, the unique national park, apart from other parks in East Africa. After lion tracking, you will check out of the park as you proceed to Kampala. The guide will either drop you at the hotel or at Entebbe International Airport.
