This is a 6 days chimpanzee tracking and game viewing safari to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking and a Bigodi swamp walk, Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives at Mweya peninsula and Kasenyi plains and a boat cruise at the Kazinga channel, Lake Mburo for a game drive and a boat cruise.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Kibale National Park

Detailed itinerary for the 6 days chimpanzee tracking and game viewing safari

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Kibale National Park

On day 1, when you arrive at Entebbe Airport, you will meet with our guide on a Uganda safari who will transfer you from Entebbe Airport to Kibale National Park with a stopover at Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves and at a hotel for lunch. You will arrive at Kibale National Park in the evening, and you will check into a lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and a Bigodi swamp walk

After an early morning breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then go for chimpanzee tracking with an armed ranger guide. You will trek for about 30 minutes to 4 hours to spot the chimpanzees, and after spotting them, you will spend 1 hour with them. You will take pictures of the chimpanzees and also observe their behaviours. You will be returned to the lodge after chimpanzee tracking. You will have lunch at the lodge.

In the afternoon, you will head to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a Bigodi swamp walk. You will spot several birds and primates as you walk around this sanctuary. The guide will transfer you to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an evening game drive

After having breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. The guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, and you will arrive in the afternoon and check into a lodge for lunch. You will relax at the lodge after lunch.

In the evening, the guide will pick you up from the lodge, and you will go for a briefing. You will then head to Mweya Peninsula for an evening game drive. You will have the opportunity to spot animals like lions, leopards, serval cats, hyenas and many more. You will spend about 2 to 3 hours on the evening game drive, and then the guide will transfer you back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 4: Morning game drive and a boat cruise

After having breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains to spot elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes, buffaloes, Uganda kob and many more. You will have about 3 to 4 hours on the morning game drive, and after that, you will be returned to the lodge. You will have lunch in the afternoon, and then you will go for a boat cruise.

The boat cruise will be done at the Kazinga channel and you will spot crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and many more, not leaving out sights of bird species. The guide will transfer you from the Kazinga channel after enjoying a boat cruise of approximately 2 to 3 hours. You will head back to the lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an afternoon boat cruise

After having breakfast at the lodge, you will check out, and the guide will transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. You will then check into a lodge when you arrive. You will have lunch, and then you will be transferred from the lodge to Lake Mburo for a boat cruise.

You will start the boat cruise with an armed ranger guide, and it will last for 2 hours. You will spot several birds, aquatic animals like hippos, crocodiles and those on the shores like buffaloes and many more. You will leave the lake and head back to the lodge. You will have dinner at the lodge and then retire to bed.

Day 6: Morning game drive and depart to Entebbe Airport

After having breakfast early in the morning, you will be taken for a briefing. You will meet with the park guides to take you through the guidelines to follow while game driving. You will then go for the game drive of about 3 to 4 hours. You will spot animals like zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes, warthogs and bird species. The guide will transfer you back to the lodge after the morning game drive. You will have lunch at the lodge.

You will check out of the lodge after lunch, and you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport, marking the end of the 6 days chimpanzee tracking and game viewing safari.
