Detailed itinerary for the 6 days luxury gorilla habituation and Chimpanzee trekking safari

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale National Park.

A guide will meet you at a hotel in Kampala on day 1 of the safari, and you will go through the details of the safari. You will then set off to Kibale National Park. You will have a stopover for lunch, and then you will proceed with the journey.

You will have another stop at the Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will have an opportunity to view the different bird species around this area. You will then arrive at the park, Kibale National Park, where you will get a lodge, check in, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up to an early morning breakfast, and then you will proceed with the guide to the park headquarters, where you will be briefed on the guidelines to follow while on a chimpanzee trek. You will conduct the chimpanzee trek in the forest on a Uganda safari with various sights of other primates and other wildlife types. You will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours while searching for the chimpanzee. This depends on the location of the chimpanzees. You will then have an hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them, and you will be able to gather enough information about them from the guide and your analysis. After the hour, you will head back to the lodge and have lunch.

You will check out of the lodge as soon as you are done with lunch, and the guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will check into a lodge when you get there. You will then have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 3: Morning game drive and a boat cruise

You will have breakfast in the morning, and then you will be picked up by the guide from the lodge to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing about the game drive, you will then go for it with a ranger guide. The drive may take about 3 to 4 hours, depending on the guide. You will see various animals and birds as you drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be able to see animals search for what to eat, and some of the wildlife species that you will spot include the lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, zebras and many more. You will then return to the lodge and relax.

You will be served lunch, and then you will go for a briefing at the park headquarters. You will receive the guidelines about the boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, and then you will set off. The boat ride will expose you to several birds along this channel and the animals along the banks like the elephants, buffaloes, and lions that may be taking water at that time, plus those that reside there, for example, the hippos and crocodiles. You will then return to the lodge after the boat cruise, which takes about 2 to 3 hours. You will be served dinner, and you retire to bed.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have breakfast at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and then you will check out and leave the lodge. The guide will then transfer you from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have an enroute lunch and go ahead with the journey.

You will get an accommodation where you will sleep on arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will relax and then go for dinner. After dinner, you will head back to the lodge and sleep.

Day 5: Gorilla habituation

You will have breakfast in the morning, and you will be driven by the guide to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then be allocated a guide who will be with you during the gorilla habituation experience. You will then head to the Rushaga sector to conduct the gorilla habituation with your packed lunch.

You will spend 4 hours with the gorillas after you locate where they are, and you must not exceed a group of 4 people. After gathering all the information you need and making your observations, you will then be transferred back to the lodge, and you can relax. You will then be given dinner, and you retire to bed.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala

You will have breakfast in the morning, and a guide will transfer you back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch at a hotel and at the equator monument for pictures and souvenirs.
