A 6 days Ziwa, Murchison Falls, and Bwindi gorilla safari is an adventure to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking, Murchison Falls National Park for morning game drive and a boat cruise, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking with an optional Batwa cultural experience.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary

You will link up with the guide from Chopper tour and travel on day 1 of the safari, and after going through the safari program, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover for lunch in Masindi town. You will also have a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will carry out rhino tracking.

You will first be briefed about the guidelines to follow, and then you will go for the rhino tracking, which will take about 2 hours. You will spot the rhinos as you get to spend some time with them in their natural habitat. The guide will then take you to Murchison Falls National Park, and you will check into a lodge. You will relax, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Morning game drive and a boat cruise

On the 2nd day of the 6 days Ziwa, Murchison Falls and Bwindi gorilla safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge in Murchison Falls National Park, and then the guide will transfer you from the lodge to the park offices. You will be briefed at the park office concerning a morning game drive. You will head for the morning game drive and get the opportunity to see four of the big five animals that reside in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will spot them in the morning rising from their habitats, and some of them are the lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, bushbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs and many more. You will then return to the lodge and relax, and after have lunch.

You will then head for an afternoon boat cruise at the Kazinga channel at 2 pm, and the boat ride will take about 3 hours with views of the wildlife like the hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and many more. You will then be taken back to the lodge, and you will be given dinner later on before you retire to bed.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

On the 3rd day of the 6 days Ziwa, Murchison Falls, and Bwindi gorilla safari, you will have breakfast at your leisure at the lodge, and then you will check out. The guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to Kibale National Park. You will have an enroute lunch and then proceed to the park. Once you arrive at Kibale National Park, you will get a lodge and you will settle in. You will relax and then have your dinner. You will retire to bed.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have breakfast at the lodge on the 4th day of the safari, and then you will be transferred to the park offices for a briefing. After the briefing, you will go for a chimpanzee trek with the ranger guide. The chimpanzee trek will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. You will stay with the chimpanzees for one hour after spotting them, and you will gather information about them from the guide and your observations. You will take pictures and then return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and get transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will get a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking

On the 5th day of the 6 days Ziwa, Murchison Falls, and Bwindi gorilla safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, and then you will get to the park offices with the guide for a briefing. You will start the gorilla trek with the guide as you trek through the forest with numerous exciting views of the wildlife while on a Uganda safari. You will take about 30 minutes to 7 hours looking for the gorillas, and then you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat. You will monitor how they behave, play and feed. You will also acquire other information about the gorillas from the guide, and then you will head back to the lodge. You will have lunch and relax.

In the late afternoon, you will have an optional Batwa cultural experience, and you will get to know about their culture and traditions. You will then head back to the lodge, have dinner and head to bed.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala

You will have breakfast on the final day of the safari, and you will leave the lodge after checking out. You will then start the journey back to Kampala with an enroute lunch. You will also have a stopover at the equator monument, and you will take pictures of yourself while at the equator monument. You will then be dropped at a hotel in Kampala.
