Detailed 7  days Bwindi safari

Day 1: Arrival at the airport

On your first day, you will be welcomed by our guide representative from Chopper Tour and Travel, who will brief you more about your 7 days safari in Bwindi. You can go to the zoo or botanical gardens or be dropped off at your hotel in Entebbe.

Day 2: transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On your 2nd day of 7 days Bwindi safari, you will wake up for your breakfast, after your breakfast, you will meet your guide and then start your journey to Kisoro district, which takes about 8 hours drive. On your way, you will have a stopover at the equator for a moment of pictures and relaxation, then continue to Mbarara City for lunch at the Igoogo Cultural Centre before proceeding to the Kigezi region, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery, hilly landscapes, and the lush greenery that makes the region attractive.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

On your 3rd day, you will wake up early, have your breakfast from your lodge, and meet your guide/driver who will drop you at the headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park, you will be advised to have packed food since trekking takes a lot of time from the forest because gorillas move from place to place in search of water and food. After stopping them, you will give one extra hour to be with them, study them about their behaviours and how they feed, and take moments to take pictures. After that, your guide will take you back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Batwa cultural experience

On your 4th day, you will wake up have breakfast, and then meet your guide, who will take you to batwa homes to learn about their traditional foods and dances, and you can opt to do community gifting with them since it’s recorded as the best hospitable tribe to the people; this tribe gives the best welcome and hospitable time to visitors who visit Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Community nature walk

On the same day, you will have a nature walk after your lunch at your lodge. You will have your nature walk in the forest, and this forest is said to have a lot of bird species and other primates, which may include blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, mountain gorillas, vervet monkeys, and Ugandan red colobus. The bird species include the great blue turaco, African green broadbill, and handsome francolin, among others. You will drive back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5: transfer to Lake Mburo national park

On your 5th day, you will wake up early, have your breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then set off to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will enjoy stunning views of the Kigezi hills, beautiful landscapes, and pleasant weather that is favourable for most tourists. You will continue along the Kabale-Mbarara highway, passing many small towns that support the community. On your way, you will have lunch in Ntungamo District before continuing to Mbarara town in the late evening. After checking in at the lodge, you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: game drive and boat cruise

On your 6th day of 7 days on the Bwindi safari, you will wake up early, have your breakfast at your lodge, and then meet your guide/driver for a game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. During this activity, you will be able to spot different mammals, which include elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, horses, antelopes, elands, and Uganda kobs. You will also be able to spot migratory birds. After your game drive, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime before the afternoon activity.

Boat cruise

After lunch, you will be driven to the lake for a boat cruise, where you will spot different crocodiles, hippos, and other mammals that come for water in the afternoon along the shores of the lake. These include: elephants, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, zebras, and horses that normally graze near the water in the late evening. After your activity, you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Departure

On the last day of your Bwindi safari, you will wake up, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, check out of the park, and begin your journey back to the city. The driver will either drop you off at the hotel in Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport for your next destination.
