Detailed itinerary of 9 9-day Uganda safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

On your 1st day of 9-day Uganda safari, you will arrive at the Entebbe international airport in the evening, where you will meet your guide/ driver. He will welcome you and give a small introduction about the 9-day Uganda safari. Then he will continue to drop your hotel in Kampala, where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: transfer to Murchison falls national park

On your 2nd day of 9-day Uganda safari, you will wake up for breakfast, check out of the hotel, and meet your guide as you start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. This journey takes about 5- 7 hours using the Gulu highway. While on your journey, you will have a stopover at Luwero market where you will buy some eat like fruits, relax and then continue to Masindi town for lunch. After lunch, you will pass through Zziwa sanctuary for Rhino tracking, which takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the location of the rhinos. After tracking, you will meet your driver again as you start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will arrive at the park in the late evening and continue to hike to the top of the falls, you will experience the best memorable with the water splashes on everyone which has kept Murchison falls unique from other parks in Uganda, at the falls you have enough time for pictures and after their you will continue and check in the lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls game drive & Boat cruise

On your 3rd day of 9-day Uganda safari, you will wake up early, have your breakfast, and meet your guide to take you through the game drive experience in the savannah lands. During your game drive, you will be able to spot different animals, which include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, lions, antelopes, topis, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, elands, among others. And this wildlife is common at any time about from the cat family, which can be seen early morning and late at night. After your game drive, you will drive back to the lodge, relax as you wait for the next activity in the afternoon.

Boat cruise

On the same day, after your lunch is served at your lodge, you will meet your guide again, and he will take you and drop you at the Victoria Nile for your boat cruise. While on your boat, you will meet another guide who will take you through the boat experience. During the boat experience, you will be able to spot Aquatic animals which include: Hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, topis, elands, which normally come closer to the Nile in the afternoon for water. After that boat experience, you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: transfer to kibale national park

On your 4th day of 9 days Uganda safari, you will wake up on your leisure breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver to start your next day travels, while on your way, you will have a stopover in Hoima and fort portal with a beautiful views of tea plantations and the Rwenzori mountains as soon as you arrive in fort portal town. The moment you get to Fort Portal, you will have your lunch, have a city visit and then proceed to Kibaale National Park in the late evening, check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking & wetland Bigodi

On your 5th day of 9 days Uganda safari, you will wake up in the morning on your breakfast, meet your guide/ driver who will drop you at chimpanzee tracking headquarters, where you will give briefing about chimpanzee tracking and after you will be given the senior guide and you will divide into groups as you start your tracking. The tracking chimpanzee normally takes about 1- 2 hours, depending on the location and the type of weather. Since they normally move into the deep forest to look for water and food after tracking, you will be taken back to the lodge for lunch as you wait for the afternoon activity.

Wetland Bigodi

On the same day, after your lunch at your lodge, you will meet your guide again to take you through the nature walks in the Bigodi wetlands. During your nature walk into the forest, you will be given a senior guide good at birding, you will be able to spot the different birds, which include Gonolek papyrus, parrots, shoebill, grey crested crane, African jacana, African openbill stork, African fish Eagle, among others. You will be able to spot the primates also, which include: red-tailed monkey, vervet monkey, Olive Baboon, and L’Hoest Monkey. After you will then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On your 6th day, you will wake up to your breakfast, check out of the park and set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese. This journey normally takes about a 3–5-hour drive. You will have your stopovers in Fort Portal town, have a town visit, Amabere nga nyinamwiru caves, visit the craters, then proceed to Queen in early afternoon, where you check in the lodge and then do the boat cruise activity.

After checking for lodge, you will be taken to kazinga channel for boat cruise where you will be able to spot the aquatic animals which include; hippos, crocodiles and other animals include; elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, elands, topis, waterbucks which normally graze around the kazinga channel for water, after that activity, your driver will take you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi

On your 7th day, you will wake up, have breakfast, meet your guide for morning game drive which takes place in the kasenyi plains, during your game drive, you will be able to spot wildlife which include; elephants, lions, Hynes, buffaloes, antelopes, topis, and later you will check out of the park, proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park with the view of tea plantations, viewing the beautiful scenic of landscapes, hills of kigezi among others. You will arrive at the gate in the evening, check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking

On your 8th day, you will wake up meet your guide, then drop you at the headquarters for briefing and after you will start your trekking by moving into deep the forest since primates normally move from place to place looking for water and food and after that you will go back to the lodge to relax and you can have an option of visit the Batwa.

Day: Return to Entebbe

On your 9th day of the last day, you will check out of the lodge, meet your guide and check out of the park and start your journey back to Kampala using the Kampala-Masaka road, Your driver will either drop you at your hotel in Entebbe or at the airport.
