Congo National Parks
Thinking of Rwanda mountaineering safaris? Rwanda is home to five of the eight Virunga Volcanoes. These mountains include Mount Karisimbi, Mount Muhabura, Mount Bisoke, Mount Sabyinyo and Mount Gahinga. All of them are found in Volcanoes National Park Musanze in the northern province of the country. Volcanoes National Park is a great place to carry out your mountain climbing adventures from. Mount Karisimbi is the highest mountain in Rwanda with an elevation of 4,507 meters. It is also apparently the hardest to climb. The second is Mount Muhabura with an elevation of 4,127 meters. Mount Bisoke comes in third standing at an elevation of 3,711 meters, Mount Sabyinyo fourth with an elevation of 3674 meters and finally Mount Gahinga at 3,474 meters. We can arrange for you to see all these attractions during your Rwandan adventures. Climbing Karisimbi will give you an opportunity to visit Dian Fossey’s grave, a lady who is remembered for her dedication in the conservation of Mountain Gorillas. Bisoke has a very beautiful crater which you will see when you climax to its peak. These Rwanda mountains are very safe to climb and you are likely to encounter mountain gorillas on your way up. The views from the top are remarkable. You get to see most of the other Virunga Volcano Mountains. See some of our Rwanda mountain climbing trips below.
