This is a 14 days long expedition in Rwanda to Akagera National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Nyungwe National Park, Lake Kivu and Gishwati Mukura National Park.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport and a city tour
Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, a guide will transfer you from the Airport and take you on a city tour in Kigali city. You will visit places like the Kigali genocide memorial, the Rwanda art museum and then head to a hotel for lunch. You will continue with the tour to the Kandt house museum, and then you will head to a hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Transfer from a hotel in Kigali to Akagera National Park
You will have breakfast at the hotel in Kigali, and then the guide will take you for a visit to Kimironko market. You will have lunch after the market visit. After lunch, the guide will transfer you to Akagera National Park, and you will check into a lodge upon arrival for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Morning game drive and a boat cruise
After breakfast, you will be briefed and then go for a morning game drive to sight the big five and other wildlife species. You will then go back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will have an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. The boat cruise will reward you with views of hippos, birds, crocodiles and many more. You will return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will have breakfast at your leisure at the lodge, and then you will check out. The guide will then transfer you to Volcanoes National Park, where you will check into a lodge for relaxation, lunch, dinner and your night’s rest

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
You will have a cup of coffee in the morning, and then you will have your packed lunch. You will then go for a briefing. You will then go for a gorilla trek, which will enable you to spend 1 hour with the gorillas. You will then go back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 6: Golden monkey trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
After having breakfast, you will be briefed and then have a golden monkey trek with the company of an armed ranger guide. You will spend 1 hour with the golden monkeys after spotting them. You will be returned to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a hike to Dian Fossey’s Tomb to see where Dian Fossey was laid to rest. You will have encounters with wildlife as you hike. You will be returned to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 7: Hike to Mount Bisoke
After an early morning breakfast, you will have a hike to Mount Bisoke. You will ascend to the summit, which will take about 4 hours. You will spot birds and animal species on your hike to Mount Bisoke. After exploring, you will descend to the starting point, which will take about 2 hours. You will head to the lodge for lunch, and you will stay at the lodge for the rest of the day. You will have dinner and then retire to bed.
Day 8: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyungwe National Park, and when you arrive, you will check into a lodge, settle in and then have lunch. You will have your dinner in the evening, and you will retire to bed

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
You will have breakfast early in the morning, and then you will be briefed. You will go for a chimpanzee trek where you will spend one hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them. You will take pictures of them and get back to the lodge after observing them. You will have lunch at the lodge.
In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walk of about 2 hours at the suspended bridge, and you will spot numerous attractions while at the bridge. You will have dinner when you return to the lodge, and you will retire to bed.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Kivu
A guide will pick you up from the lodge after breakfast, and you will be transferred to Lake Kivu. You will arrive at a hotel where you will have lunch, dinner and your night’s stay.

Day 11: Boat cruise at Lake Kivu
You will have breakfast, and then the guide will transfer you from the hotel to the lake for a boat cruise. You will visit Nyamirundi island for a coffee tour and then get back to the hotel for lunch, relaxation, dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 12: Transfer to Gishwati Mukura National Park
After having breakfast, you will leave the lodge and the guide will transfer you to Gishwati Mukura National Park, where you will have lunch, dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 13: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then be escorted by an armed ranger guide for chimpanzee trekking, during which you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them. The guide will return you to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk in Gishwati Mukura National Park, and you will be exposed to the wildlife and nature in this park. The guide will return you to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 14: Depart for Kigali Airport
After an early morning breakfast, the guide will transfer you from the hotel to Kigali Airport for a flight.
