This is a 1 day Ziwa Rhino Tracking Tour that takes you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is situated in Nakasongola District, for a rhino tracking experience. It is only at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary that you can track the rhinos on foot. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is an ideal place for birders and nature lovers, and a perfect place for photography.

Detailed Itinerary
Early in the morning, at around 6:00 am, our company representative driver guide will pick you up from a hotel in Kampala, and you will start the journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. It will take about 3 to 4 hours to get there. When you arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will meet the guides to brief you about the rules, regulations and safety guidelines to follow while rhino tracking and what to expect.
You will then set off and go for rhino tracking with the company of an armed ranger guide. The rhino tracking while on a Uganda safari will last for approximately 2 hours. You will track the rhino following the footprints that they leave behind. You will observe these animals at close range as the guide gives you details about them. After rhino tracking, you will have a picnic lunch as you relax from the trek.
After lunch, you will have a nature walk in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, since it is also home to over 300 bird species that you can spot while on a nature walk. The nature walk will take approximately 1 hour, and after that, you will exit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The driver guide will drive you back to Kampala. The return journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. You will either be dropped off at a hotel in Kampala or be taken to Entebbe Airport for a flight.
