The 3 Days Mgahinga National Park Safari is a primate adventure to southwestern Uganda in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Mgahinga National Park is situated in the Virunga Mountains along the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mgahinga National Park on a Uganda safari is a shelter to the endangered mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and the Batwa pygmy community.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga National Park
Our company representative will pick you up from a hotel in Kampala, and you will begin the drive to Mgahinga National Park. You will have a stopover at the equator monument, where you will capture shots and buy souvenirs. You will then proceed to Mgahinga National Park with a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town.
You will proceed with the journey and arrive at the park in the evening. You will check into a lodge, shower, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and a Batwa cultural experience
You will have an early morning breakfast that will be served at the lodge. After breakfast, you will be taken for a briefing at the park headquarters. After receiving the guidelines to follow while gorilla trekking from the park wardens, you will be allocated a gorilla family to find and also get an armed ranger guide to escort you. You will spend about 2 to 6 hours searching for the Uganda gorillas. Once you spot them, you will have one hour with them. You will capture pictures of them as you observe them play, socialise and feed. The guide will drive you back to the lodge after the gorilla trekking.
You will have lunch at the lodge and then visit the Batwa community for a Batwa cultural experience. In the Batwa community, you will meet the locals who will take you through their traditions, culture and lifestyle. After learning several things from them, like how to prepare their local dishes, ancient hunting skills and many more, you will get back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and depart to Kampala
At the lodge, you will have an early morning breakfast and then leave the lodge with a guide. The guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing. The park wardens will guide you on how you are supposed to behave while golden monkey trekking. At the park headquarters, you will be given a guide to accompany you on the search for the golden monkeys. You will take approximately 2 to 4 hours searching for the golden monkeys. After finding them, you will spend one hour with them. You will watch them as they play, feed, and do other things. After capturing pictures of them, you will head back to the lodge.
You will check out of the lodge and then exit the park. The guide will drive you back to Kampala. You will have a stopover at a hotel and have lunch. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and head to a hotel, which will be your drop-off point, marking the end of the 3 Days Mgahinga National Park Safari.
