Day 1: Entebbe to Bwindi Forest
You will board a scheduled light aircraft (operated by Aerolink or Bar Aviation) from Entebbe International Airport. This is the scenic transfer to where you will enjoy an aerial view over Uganda’s changing landscapes, rolling hills, and papyrus swamps.
Once you land, it is either at Kihihi Airstrip (for northern or eastern sectors like Buhoma and Ruhija) or Kisoro Airstrip (for southern sectors like Rushaga and Nkuringo).
Your safari guide in a 4×4 safari vehicle transfers you from the airstrip to your booked lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, you will be transferred for a pre-trek briefing. This is where you gather at the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) park headquarters at 7:30 AM for a safety and protocol briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the dense rainforest with expert rangers and trackers to locate your assigned habituated mountain gorilla family.
Once you find the mountain gorilla family, you will spend exactly 1 hour watching, photographing, and admiring the gorillas.
After one hour, return to the starting point and be awarded the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in the gorilla trekking while on a Uganda gorilla safari, and later drive back to the lodge for a celebratory drink or opt for a local community walk to meet the Batwa people. Later dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Return Flight to Entebbe.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge, and then your guide drives you back to the nearest airstrip. You will catch your scheduled return flight to Entebbe International Airport to connect with your international departure, bringing your 3 Days Fly-in Bwindi gorilla safari to an end.
