Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Depending on your point of location, our safari driver guide will pick you up and drives you south to the jungle of great apes ‘’Kibale National Park ‘’ known as capital for world’s primates especially the chimpanzees among 13 species of primates within the park. Proceed the drive to the park with beautiful view of the country side, tea plantation, rolling grass as well as a stop in perfect town of Fort port for picnic lunch. After lunch, proceed the journey to the park. Ar rive and relax at the lodge or take a guided walk in the community after the long drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpundu Safari Lodge – Luxury, Kibale Tourist Safari Lodge – Mid range and Isunga Lodge -Budget

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Start the day with heavy breakfast and then head for a briefing at the park headquarter for chimp tracking activity. If children are below 12 years of age, they will remain at the lodge and play with toys or go for guided nature walk in accompany of a guide.

The trekking experience can take 1 to 5 hours. You will be led by the skilled ranger in search of chimps and as you will be looking for chimps, have chance to spot other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, grey -cheeked mangabey, Red-tailed monkeys, bush babies s and pottos and various bird species like yellow -spotted nicator, little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle and black bee eater among other. On your lucky day, you can watch some mammals like elephants. Afterward, hike back to the meeting point and meet your driver guide to connect you to the lodge, have hot lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and relax on arrival. Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

After morning breakfast, go for game drive in the northern part of the park in Kasenyi track in search of elephants, lions and solitary buffaloes. You will also have a perfect chance to view just about every animal here at a very close range. As a family you will get excited in both experiences. Afterward you will connect to lodge, relax and have early hot lunch before heading out for boat trip along the impressive Kazinga Channel.

One engaging in boat cruise, will give you an opportunity to view wildlife up close such as hippo’s huff and spray at mere feet away from the boat and buffalos linger in the shallows. You will get to view along the shores of the channels birds like Pink backed Pelicans, pied and malachite Kingfishers, saddle billed stork among others. Back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have delicious breakfast and be driven to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing via Ishasha sector with chances to view the tree climbing lion and as you proceed, you will enjoy the scenic view of the highlands of the great Kigezi regions. Arrive at the park in the evening and then check into your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge -Luxury, Buhoma Haven Lodge -Mid range and Buhoma Community Rest Camp – Budget

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After morning breakfast served at the lodge, carry your packaged lunch boxes and afterward proceed to the park headquarters to have briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After briefing, the ranger will accompany you to the thick rainforest in search for the gentle giants. If you have heavy luggage, you can hire a porter at a small extra cost.

It’s always not easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take and this also depends to a gorilla family you’re assigned too. However, this activity always takes 2 to 7 hours to allocate them and the ranger will always be there to guide you. After an amazing trek, hike back to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Note; Trackers are advisable to be physically fit before going for tracking.  Children below 12 years will stay at the lodge or go for guided nature walk where they will enjoy beautiful views around.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for Wildlife

Wake up have breakfast and then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park through beautiful landscape, plantation and farms among others. Have a visit to a cultural museum that exhibits the life of the native people of the area. Enjoy lunch at restaurant along the way. Arrive in the park late afternoon and then go for evening game drive as a family to experience jungle life out of noisy places. After, connect to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge- luxury, Arcadia Lodge -Midrange and Eagle’s Nest – Budget.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala /Entebbe

You will enjoy an early breakfast, go on a safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Then after, head back to Entebbe with a stop at the equator for memorable picture taking and picnic lunch. You will then proceed to the airport. Arriving at Entebbe International Airport in the afternoon for your onward flight.
